We are very dynamic software shop and use a lot of different technologies. If you have preferences over what we should use, we will most of the time not question them.
Our software is based on two leading platforms, Microsoft technology and Open Source. They are sorted by economic benefit we are getting from them.
We do .Net in VB mostly, but can do C# or C++ if needed. Our expertise is in web applications using ASP.Net and desktop apps using WinForms. In this setup we use MS SQL Server and often Crystal Reports.
Somewhere in between open source tech and MS is Cold Fusion. Great for enterprise apps with excellent features. It can be pricey and it is not for every project but we excel in Cold Fusion apps. If possible we use Fusebox framework and Flip methology (wireframes, prototypes), we are familiar with Mach as well.
This is really exciting open source application framework. We love it and used it in several internal projects as well as client projects. Great for building web2.0 applications and Ajax effects. Most of the time we would use excellent MySQL database with it.
Major open source platform that powers internet behemots like Yahoo. We love it and enjoy making applications with it. One of great advantages of PHP over any other platform is availability of lot of resources, cheap hosting, again cheap hosting and a lot of choices that goes with it. This is also a platform that power major blogging tools and shopping carts which we often use and customize. MySQL is preferred database with PHP.
Famous open source database that is fast and reliable. It doesn't have the features of MS SQL Server, but then it does not cost that much either. Perfect for internet sites and applications.
This is paper and pencil technology but greatly improves everything else that we are doing.
